April Meservy – Wear Out My Life
So I met April Meservy about 2 weeks ago. I had heard about a show by Mindy Gledhill, and as I was walking up I heard some jazz-ish type music. The place where the show was at was basically in the middle of a street. As I got closer I saw it was a duet. Some girl with a…I would say “fresh” voice…was jamming with another guy on piano. I only caught the tail end of the song, but randomly ran into the singer (April) later that night.
Long story short, I ended up with a couple of songs from her to give to a music friend of mine in the Bay Area as a demo. So here is one of her songs. Brace yourself.
“Wear Out My Life”
Missy Higgins

Missy Higgins is our first featured artist. She comes from Australia, and I haven’t been able to get enough of her the past 6 months. I discovered her by a combination of two things. A dear friend of mine named Annie Davies excitedly told me the infamous “you HAVE to listen to her” quote and I kind of didn’t catch the drift. But I went to a concert of hers with Joshua Radin and got blown away.
I would describe her as…well amazing. One of those people who you not only like their music, but you kind of just want to be their friend too. I don’t know how that works, but I just kind of want her to be my friend. I’m sure we would get along. Here are a couple of my favorites of hers.
