Update on the New Look

Ok, so here is a quick update. I think in light of Halloween coming up this week, its the perfect time. Just as we all get to put on some scary makeup and totally change the way we look, TopAcousticSongs is doing the same. We are trying to get our “makeup” to look right. We are working hard to get some kinks worked out in the site to make it all work.

We’ve added some video links to our posted acoustic songs. We are trying to coin it as the Acoustic Videos Project. Check out one of the first acoustic videos entered by clicking the link. We are working on getting some browser compatibility issues worked out.

We’ve added the new and improved look to the posts, and added lyrics pages for all of the posted songs. Please take a look at an example of one of our posted acoustic song lyrics pages. We are still working on getting artist profiles up. We’ve received a couple of comments about that – no worries about the 404 error, we are aware, but we do appreciate your feedback.

Also, we wanted to throw a Halloween shout out. Send us pictures of you and your costumes for Halloween, especially any music-related costumes. We’d love to see what crazy costumes you’ll come up with this year. Also, we’ve had a few interesting comments about improvements for the site, but would love to hear more from you. Send us your suggestions!

Why Acoustic Songs Change Lives

Acoustic songs truly do change lives. Maybe a broader perspective on the subject is that music changes lives. So for some it might be heavy metal, for others punk rock, and for some, acoustic music does the trick. Personally, acoustic music seems to hit me because of the general de-emphasis on the uncontrolled rage and the emphasis on focused emotion.

I appreciate lyrics from acoustic songs. They are clear and easy to understand. I have favorite lyrical artists, but the trend seems to be that acoustic song lyrics are very moving. Some people are more effected by lyrics than others; and some are effected depending on what is going on in their lives.

There is also something to be said for the ultra relaxing feeling you can get when you are all alone in your room laying on your bed in the dark with some great acoustic music playing.

Well, the site is in a state of reformation – but a reformation that I’m happy with. We are going to pump up this site to get you the best acoustic songs out there. Of course, the mission is the same: Help people discover great acoustic music that will change their lives. I’ve got a lot of new ideas, and I’m excited to help everyone out there discover the best acoustic songs in the music scene. The site is surely in a beta testing mode still, so be patient and feel free to shoot me an email with your suggestions for top acoustic songs in your life.
